Pipe Polisher Belt Sizes: Match Your HIJOHNY Head

HIJOHNY pipe polisher belt size guide showing the standard 3-wheel 40 by 760 mm model and four head-specific belt sizes

Ordering a replacement belt for a pipe polisher should start with two numbers: its width and its full loop length. A familiar-looking machine or a matching belt colour is not enough. Within the HIJOHNY range, different heads use different belt formats, so checking your fitted head first helps you avoid buying a belt that cannot be tensioned or tracked correctly.

This guide explains the four formats listed in our current 1100W range and how to choose the next abrasive for stainless steel tubes, handrails and fabricated metalwork.

Read the size as width × full loop length

A 40 × 760 mm sanding belt is 40 mm wide and 760 mm around the complete loop. The second number is not the length of the belt laid flat. When an old belt still has a readable label, keep a photograph of it alongside your machine model and head configuration.

If the label is missing, check the machine instructions or ask us before ordering. Do not cut a belt to length, stretch an unsuitable belt onto the rollers or assume that the tension adjustment compensates for a different nominal size.

Match the belt to the fitted HIJOHNY head

Head configuration Belt size Selection note
Standard 3-wheel 40 × 760 mm The general tube and handrail configuration; listed for tubes up to Ø185 mm.
2-wheel 40 × 620 mm A separate format for the 2-wheel head; listed for tubes up to Ø225 mm.
Compact 4-wheel 30 × 533 mm The compact configuration; listed for tubes up to Ø65 mm.
Wide-belt 3-wheel 100 × 760 mm A wider format. Confirm head clearance and workpiece suitability before choosing it.

These are model-specific combinations, not four interchangeable belts for one fitted head. Tube diameter is only part of the selection: bends, brackets, joints and the space around an installed handrail also affect access. Compare the HIJOHNY 1100W configurations before selecting your machine.

Choose the abrasive after confirming the fit

Once the size is right, decide what the surface needs next. Removing a weld or deep grinding scratches is different from blending a satin finish or preparing for final polishing.

  • Grinding and scratch refinement: compare the coated abrasive materials and grits offered for your size, including ceramic and zirconia where listed.
  • Blending and satin finishing: check the available non-woven grades. Their labels are not direct equivalents of conventional grit numbers.
  • Fine finishing: structured abrasives such as PYTAMID use their own grade system. Choose according to the starting surface and the finish required.
  • Final polishing: suitable polishing belts and compounds work after the earlier scratch pattern has been refined. They do not replace the grinding stage.

Not every material or grade is offered in every size. Read the selected product option and check clearance and permitted speed for the belt construction. For more on structured abrasive grades, read our PYTAMID belt guide.

Check quantity before comparing prices

A single belt, a 10-pack and a machine bundle are different purchases. Check the selected material, grade and quantity rather than comparing headline prices alone. Keep the labels from belts you use regularly so the next refill order is straightforward.

Our replacement listings cover 40 × 760 mm, 40 × 620 mm, 30 × 533 mm and 100 × 760 mm. Check the live options for the material and pack you need.

Unsure which format you have?

Send our Australian team a photograph of the machine and fitted head, any readable belt label, your tube diameter and the finish you want. That gives us a useful starting point for checking the machine and consumables together. Ask for pipe polisher and replacement-belt advice before placing an uncertain order.
